Hounslow Removals
Removals in Hounslow for Houses, Flats and Offices
This borough covers more ground than most, and a move in TW3 looks nothing like a move in TW8. We load 1930s semis in Heston, walk up flats near Hounslow Central, riverside apartments in Brentford and whole offices off the Great West Road. Working across west London since 2003 means we already know which streets need a suspension, which blocks need a lift booked and which roads shut at school run times. Send us both addresses and what is in the property, and we will tell you how the day should run.
Local Knowledge
Why A Move Here Is Rarely A Straight Run
Two things shape almost every removals job in Hounslow. The first is the road network. The A4 Great West Road, the A30 Great South West Road and the A312 Parkway are red routes, where stopping is banned at all times, loading included. Whatever the property faces, the van works off a side street, and that is usually where the restriction sits.
The second is the housing mix, from interwar semis with driveways to new blocks with a height barrier over the car park ramp. Heathrow adds short notice work in TW4, TW5, TW6 and TW14 as tenancies turn over. A removal company that treats all of it the same ends up parked two streets away, carrying furniture by hand.
Areas We Cover
Streets And Postcodes We Load On, From Lampton To Bedfont
Pull up outside a terrace on Lampton Road and the problem is a permit bay you cannot legally park in. Do the same on Hanworth Road in Feltham and it is traffic moving past a van with its tail lift down. These are the pockets we work in most, though Chiswick, Cranford and Osterley are covered too.
Lampton Road and Hounslow Central
Permit bays run up to the front doors, so a suspension is the only way to hold space for a Luton. Lampton Avenue is a School Street, closed morning and afternoon in term time, so start times work around it.
Bath Road and Vicarage Farm Road, TW4
Wide but busy roads, with bus routes and airport traffic. Most properties have a driveway, so we load off street and keep the carriageway clear rather than suspending a bay.
New Heston Road and Westbrook Road, TW5
Semis and closes with shared drives a neighbour’s car can block. Westbrook Road, Dorset Waye and Devon Waye sit under School Street closures, ruling out arrivals in the drop off and pick up windows.
Twickenham Road and Worton Road, TW7
Riverside houses, estates and hospital traffic. Parking pressure near West Middlesex runs all day, so we suspend a bay rather than gamble on a space at eight in the morning.
Brentford High Street and Lionel Road, TW8
Riverside blocks with gated bays and a concierge controlling the service lift. Height barriers stop a large van using the ramp, so we load at the bay with a booked lift slot.
Hanworth Road and Cardinal Road, TW13
Mostly uncontrolled streets with driveways, the easiest part of the borough to load in. The catch is School Street closures on roads like Cardinal Road, Norman Avenue and Towfield Road.
Property And Access
Interwar Semis, Conversion Flats And New Riverside Blocks
The housing here came in three big waves, each with its own access problem. These are the four types we handle most.
1930s semis and closes
Deep front gardens, a driveway that fits one car, and a side return too narrow to turn a wardrobe in. Loft conversions are common, with steep stairs and a tight turn at the top.
We measure the awkward pieces beforehand, dismantle beds and wardrobes where the turn will not take them, and park on the drive. On a shared drive, give the neighbour a week’s notice.
Victorian and Edwardian terraces
Narrow hallways, a bay window room at the front and a rear extension added at some point. Almost none have off street parking, so the restriction on the road decides how the day runs.
We check the bay type and hours when we quote, suspend a bay where needed, and bring runners and door protection, because everything goes through one hallway.
Converted and purpose built flats
Two and three storey walk ups with communal stairs, fire doors that swing shut on every trip, and a half landing that stops a sofa going round. Lifts, where they exist, are small.
We plan the route through the building first, prop fire doors safely during a carry, and stand furniture on end where the stairwell will not take it. Wrapping happens in the flat, not on the pavement.
New apartment blocks and town centre developments
Managing agents control the loading bay and the service lift, and most want a booking plus documents before releasing either. Car park ramps carry height barriers a removals van will not clear.
We contact the building manager beforehand and book the lift window in writing. If the van stays at surface level, the longer carry goes into the timings, not into a surprise on the day.
Parking And Permits
Suspensions, Red Routes And School Street Closures
Hounslow Council asks for at least ten working days notice on a parking bay suspension. That is longer than most people expect, and it is the most common reason a move day goes wrong here. The rules and the application form sit on the council’s own page: Request a parking suspension in your area, London Borough of Hounslow.
What catches people out:
- Ten working days notice as standard, with exceptions only in genuine emergencies.
- One space for one day costs £25 plus a £40 admin fee, each extra space or day £25.
- With no bays near the property, you apply instead to park on yellow lines. That is a separate application, £65 for one vehicle for one day, then £25 a day.
- A suspension reserves the space but will not move a car already sitting there before the cones go out, which is why the notice period matters.
- CPZ hours vary street by street. The council's Traffweb map gives the zone, bay type and restriction for any address.
- Skip permits in a bay need an approved suspension first, so clearances have to be applied for in that order.
We apply on your behalf once the date is confirmed, at both ends where both are in London, and we say so when a suspension is not worth paying for. Our guide to parking suspensions for London moves covers the other boroughs.

Why Elephant Removals
Why People In TW3 And TW7 Book Us Twice
Established in 2003
Over twenty years as a removal company working across Hounslow and west London. It is why we know a Brentford car park ramp will not take a Luton, and a Lampton Road terrace will not hold a space without a suspension.
Access sorted before the date
We check bay types and hours at both ends, apply for the suspension, and speak to the building manager about the lift. That work happens before move day, not on it.
Covered moves
Your goods are covered in transit, and we send documentation to managing agents who want it on file before releasing a service lift or loading bay.
Built around the job
Full pack, part pack, or crew and van only. A single wardrobe out of a Feltham semi, or a five bedroom house with storage in between.

Common Questions
Hounslow Removals FAQs
All of them: TW3 and TW4 around the town centre and Hounslow West, TW5 in Heston and Cranford, TW7 in Isleworth, TW8 in Brentford, TW13 and TW14 in Feltham, Hanworth and Bedfont, plus W4 in Chiswick. Moves ending elsewhere in the UK are covered too.
If the property is in a controlled parking zone without a driveway, almost certainly. The council needs ten working days notice, so send the address early and we will check the restriction and apply for you.
Yes. Most business moves here run on an evening, overnight or across a weekend, so the office is working again the next trading day. We survey first, label by desk and agree bay and lift access with the building.
Usually not. Height barriers on residential car park ramps in Brentford and the town centre sit below the height of a removals van, so we load at surface level and plan the longer carry into the timings.
Yes. Where the sale and purchase dates do not line up, we collect, store and redeliver, so you are not paying for two separate moves. Tell us how long the gap is and we will quote both parts together.
