Ealing Removals
Removals In Ealing, From W5 To UB6
Ealing covers a lot of ground. A move here might be a first floor conversion flat off Northfields Avenue, a five bedroom semi on Pitshanger Lane, or an office unit backing onto the A40 at Perivale. Kerb rules change street by street. The controlled zone around the Broadway runs far later into the evening than people expect, and a new block will want its lift booked before anyone touches a box. We plan removals in Ealing around all of that. Tell us both addresses and the floor levels, and we will sort out the rest.
Moving In The Borough
What Moving In W5, W13 And UB6 Actually Involves
The housing stock here does not sit in one bracket. Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Northfields and South Ealing, split into upper and lower flats behind a shared front door. 1930s semis with driveways in Pitshanger, Perivale and Greenford. Then the newer towers at the Broadway, where the move runs to a booking sheet rather than to the street.
So the same job plays out three ways depending on the address. A van that parks on a driveway in UB6 goes into a permit bay in W5. Almost every delay we see in Ealing traces back to something nobody checked: a lift that needed booking, a bay that needed suspending, or a School Street camera still live at 9am.
Streets And Pockets
Ealing Broadway And Haven Green, W5
Dickens Yard and The Filmworks run on managed access, so the lift and loading bay get booked before the date is confirmed. Zone A is controlled until 7:30pm Monday to Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday, which catches out anyone planning a late finish.
Lampton Road and Hounslow Central
Permit bays run up to the front doors, so a suspension is the only way to hold space for a Luton. Lampton Avenue is a School Street, closed morning and afternoon in term time, so start times work around it.
Ealing Common And Gunnersbury Avenue, W5 And W3
The A406 side of Ealing Common is a red route with no stopping, so nothing loads on the main carriageway. We work from the side streets and build the carry into the timing.
Northfields And South Ealing, W5 And W13
Terraced streets, permit bays full from late afternoon, and front doors never sized for a three seater sofa. We measure the hall and the turn at the foot of the stairs beforehand, not with the sofa halfway in.
West Ealing And Hanwell, W13 And W7
Uxbridge Road carries bus lanes and timed restrictions along much of its length, so the van sits in the side streets off Boston Road or Cleveland Road. Hanwell terraces often have a step down into the kitchen, which matters for appliances.
Pitshanger Lane And Cleveland Park, W5
Mostly 1930s semis with a driveway, which sounds easy until the drive is shared or the gatepost is narrower than the tailgate. Loft and garage clearances make up a fair share of these jobs.
Greenford, Perivale And Park Royal, UB6 And NW10
The A40 Western Avenue is a red route, so we come off it into the estate roads and service yards. Units around Park Royal and Perivale usually share a yard with a time limit, and we book that slot with the site in advance.
Buildings And Access
Conversion Flats, 1930s Semis, Managed Blocks And Office Units
Four building types cover most of what we move here, and each fails in its own way when access goes unchecked.
Victorian And Edwardian Conversion Flats
More floor space, more contents, and a loft or garage nobody has emptied since they moved in. The driveway looks like the answer until the gateposts turn out narrower than the van. We measure the entrance and decide whether the van goes on the drive or the kerb. Garage, garden and loft contents get quoted properly rather than treated as an afterthought.
1930s Semis And Family Houses
More floor space, more contents, and a loft or garage nobody has emptied since they moved in. The driveway looks like the answer until the gateposts turn out narrower than the van. We measure the entrance and decide whether the van goes on the drive or the kerb. Garage, garden and loft contents get quoted properly rather than treated as an afterthought.
New-Build Apartment Blocks
Managed buildings run to a schedule. Lifts get booked in windows, loading bays have a time limit, and the concierge may want paperwork before releasing the service lift. We contact the building manager once the date is set, book the lift window and the bay, then plan the load order around it.
Offices And Studio Units
Business moves have a deadline nobody can move. The lease ends, the new site opens Monday, and IT has to be live before anyone sits down. We run these outside working hours where it helps, label by desk and room, and clear the old site so the dilapidations inspection does not come back at you.
Kerbside And Permits
Ealing Council Bay Suspensions And The Three Working Day Deadline
If your street has resident or pay and display bays, the van needs a suspension. Ealing Council asks for applications at least three working days before the suspension starts, and the fee drops if you apply at least seven working days ahead. The rules are set out on the Ealing Council parking suspension page. We apply on your behalf as part of the booking, but the deadline belongs to the council.
The things that catch people out:
- Seven working days ahead costs £39 per bay per day. Leave it to three and it is £50. The council sets these charges.
- A parking bay is five metres long. A Luton with the tailgate down needs two bays, sometimes three.
- A suspension in a resident bay runs 24 hours a day, not only during controlled hours. Useful on an early start.
- The council puts a yellow warning notice on the nearest post beforehand. If none appears, say so, because an unsigned bay is hard to enforce.
- Disabled, doctor and car club bays are suspended only as a last resort, so do not plan around the one outside your door.
- Cancelling or changing needs at least two working days' notice, and there is a £25 administration fee on refunds.
- A suspended bay can still be blocked. The council issues a penalty charge notice, and blocked bays are reported to parking services on 020 8825 6677.

Why Elephant Removals
Why People In TW3 And TW7 Book Us Twice
Established in 2003
Over twenty years moving London households, and West London kerbs are not new to us. It shows in the boring details: Zone A evening hours, the bay suspended two doors down, the lift that takes six crates at a time.
Access sorted before the date
We apply for the Ealing Council suspension, contact the building manager, and check both ends of the move. Nobody arrives at a W5 block to find the goods lift already booked.
Covered moves
Goods in transit and public liability cover, with documents sent over when a managing agent wants them before releasing a service lift. At the Broadway developments that request is routine.
Built around the job
Full pack, part pack, or crew and van only if you have done your own boxes. Single items through to whole houses and office floors, with weekend and out of hours slots.

Common Questions
Ealing Removals FAQs
All of the borough: Ealing and Ealing Common in W5, West Ealing in W13, Hanwell in W7, Acton in W3, Greenford and Perivale in UB6, Northolt in UB5, Southall in UB1 and UB2, and the units around Park Royal in NW10. Moves out of the borough are handled by the same crew.
Yes, we apply for it as part of the booking. Ealing Council needs at least three working days’ notice and charges less when the application goes in at least seven working days ahead, so confirming your date early is both cheaper and safer. The council decides which bays get suspended.
No. The council’s bulky waste service takes away furniture you are throwing out. We move furniture you are keeping, whether that is one wardrobe across W13 or a full house of contents.
Two to three weeks is comfortable. Month end and Friday slots go first, and if you are moving into one of the managed blocks at Ealing Broadway you are also working around the building’s lift booking, which is often the tightest constraint of all.
Yes. We move offices, studios and small commercial units across the borough, including Uxbridge Road, Greenford and Park Royal. Most business moves run in the evening or over a weekend so the new site works on Monday morning.
Both. Packing can be full or partial, with materials delivered ahead of the date. If your sale and purchase dates do not line up, removals and storage run as one booking so your contents stay with us throughout.
