Council parking suspensions normally need three to five working days' notice, which a same-day move doesn't have. We work with what's available — double yellows during loading hours, resident bays with pay-and-display, or any legal space close to the door. A studio flat with packed boxes is straightforward. A four-bedroom house with a loft full of unsorted belongings is a different proposition entirely. We'll be honest on the phone about what's achievable within the hours remaining in the day, and if you need packing too, our packing service can be added — though for larger properties, a next-day start for packing with same-day transport often works better.

Box what you can, even if it's just carrier bags and bin liners. Disconnect appliances, strip beds, and group small items by room. Label anything fragile. The more you do before the crew arrives, the faster the load goes and the less time you're paying for. Every fifteen minutes saved on loading translates directly to a lower total.

ULEZ And Congestion Charge

Our vehicles are ULEZ-compliant, so there's no surcharge for moves inside the zone. Congestion Charge applies to central London moves during charging hours (7 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday to Friday), and we factor that into the quote upfront rather than adding it afterward.

For properties of three bedrooms or more, same-day is possible but depends on the time of day you call and whether a large crew is available. Smaller flats and studios are much more straightforward. We’ll always be upfront about what’s realistic. For larger planned moves, our house removals service is a better fit.

What If I Can't Get A Parking Suspension In Time?

Most councils require three to five working days for a suspension, so same-day moves rarely have one. We use whatever legal parking is available — pay-and-display bays, single yellow lines during permitted hours, or loading bays. The crew carries items further if needed, and we factor that into the time estimate.

What's The Difference Between Same-Day Removals And Man And Van?

A man and van typically means one driver with a Transit van — good for a few items or boxes. Same-day removals is a full service with a trained crew, larger vehicles, protective wrapping, and proper loading. If you just need something transported, man and van is likely enough. If you need a proper move with furniture protection, same-day removals is what you want.

Is Same-Day More Expensive Than A Planned Move?

The hourly rates and vehicle costs are the same. What can increase the total is the lack of preparation time — if items aren’t boxed, the crew spends longer on loading, which adds to the hours. Do You Provide Packing On Same-Day Jobs?

We can add our packing service to a same-day booking for smaller properties. For larger homes, packing and moving on the same day usually means a very long day for the crew, so we often recommend packing the day before and moving the next morning.

Do You Cover Areas Outside London?
