How to Plan Your London Office Move
Loading bays and goods lifts
Most managed London buildings expect the move to be booked in with facilities: a loading bay slot, a goods lift reservation, and sometimes proof of insurance before the crew is allowed past reception. Ask your building manager what they need as soon as your date is set, because these slots go quickly at month end.
Parking, ULEZ and the Congestion Charge
Where there's no loading bay, a bay suspension through the borough is usually the only way to guarantee kerb space, and councils typically want a week or two of notice. Add the Congestion Charge for weekday moves in the central zone. We'll flag which of these apply to your two addresses when we quote.
Choosing the right window
Friday evening to Monday morning is the classic office move slot for a reason: staff leave one office at the end of the week and arrive at a working one. Smaller offices often manage a single evening. Whichever you choose, book the IT reconnection for the morning after, not the same night.
Labelling and a floor plan
The single biggest time-saver on the day. Number the desks on a floor plan of the new office, put matching labels on crates and monitors, and the crew can place everything first time instead of asking. We supply labels and can talk you through the system before your crates arrive.
What isn't coming with you
Old desks, broken chairs and filing cabinets nobody has opened since 2019. Decide early whether they're being sold, donated, recycled or stored, because clearing them is a separate job from moving and it's cheaper to plan for than to improvise on the day.
